6th Annual Men’s Conference

Hickman, CA

IRON SHARPENS IRON Conference

The 6th year of this annual conference will be hosted once again at Hickman Community Church. Our theme for this year will be “REFORMED” as we celebrate 500 years since Martin Luther was widely acknowledged to have started the Reformation with his 1517 work The Ninety-Five Theses.

Our keynote speaker has elected to teach through 3 of Reformed Theology’s 5 Solas. Each sermon begins with a historical prologue and moves into an exposition of the texts on which the particular Sola was founded.

  1. Sola Gratia (Grace Alone) with a historical prologue about Martin Luther
  2. Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) with a historical prologue about Arch Bishop Cranmer
  3. Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone) with a historical prologue John Calvin

Andy Woodfield, Senior Pastor at Hickman Community Church, will be concluding the conference with Sola Fide (Faith Alone).

Capping the weekend, Jack will be back to preach on Solus Christus (Christ Alone) during Sunday morning service with the saints of Hickman Community Church.

ANDY WOODFIELD

I was born and raised “down under” in the beautiful country of New Zealand. I grew up on the family farm and trained primarily as a shepherd of sheep. Growing up in a Christian family, I rejected the Bible’s message of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, believing that I was able to stand on my own two feet without any help from God. However, by God’s grace, at 18 years of age I was dramatically saved from a lifestyle of absolute hopelessness.

Six years after coming to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, I was called to full-time Christian ministry. This has included three years studying and serving at “This is Life Ministries”, an evangelistic Christian ministry; five years as a youth pastor at Havelock North Bible Chapel; six years as a Church planter and pastor of Grace Family Fellowship; and more recently, four years at The Master’s Seminary and Grace Community Church to complete the Master of Divinity program.

I thank God for bringing me to Hickman Community Church in 2007. I love the people here, and find my greatest joy in teaching God’s Word to open hearts. My passion in pastoral ministry is to know God and make Him known through the accurate exposition of the Bible which is God’s holy inspired Word to mankind!

I serve God with my dearest friend and wife, Barby, whit whom I have three incredible children, one son-in law, one daughter-in law and four wonderful grandchildren, Whitaker, Thaddeus, Rosemarie and Epaphras (Rusty for short).

The Sufficiency of Scripture and the Man of God

SCOTT BIRD

Hickman Community Church

Hi, there! However, by God’s grace, at 18 years of age I was dramatically saved from a lifestyle of absolute hopelessness brought about by my own rebellion and pride.

Since then, God’s saving grace has brought many blessings to my life including my dearest friend and wife, Barby, and three incredible children, one son-in law, one daughter-in law and four wonderful grandchildren, Whitaker, Thaddeus, Rosemarie and Epaphras (Rusty for short). God’s grace has sustained me through many trials, and taught me that my life is totally in His control, and that I exist for His glory alone.
